The private sector’s role in protecting children online
Our private sector members, particularly technology companies, play a pivotal role in the global fight against online child sexual exploitation and abuse. Through WeProtect Global Alliance, these industry leaders are committed to minimizing the potential harm of their innovations and ensuring that future technologies are safeguarded against misuse for exploitation. Together, we are setting new standards to make the digital world safer for children.
To amplify the voices of our diverse membership, WeProtect Global Alliance has established specialised membership reference groups. These groups give our members—from tech innovators to child protection advocates—a platform to drive global initiatives, share emerging practices, and influence policies that shape online safety.
Our Private Sector Reference Group, chaired by Jacqueline Beauchere, Global Head of Platform Safety at Snap Inc. and private sector representative on the Alliance’s Global Policy Board, meets twice a year to tackle pressing challenges and share best practices. This group ensures that the private sector’s expertise and insights directly inform the Alliance’s global response to child exploitation and abuse.
By joining WeProtect Global Alliance, private sector leaders become part of a high-profile collective committed to creating lasting change and a secure digital environment for children worldwide.
Our goal is to protect people, not just the machines that they use. We take great pride in our firm stance against CSAM and feel fortunate to ally with such an impactful and passionate organization. We’re looking forward to learning from their educational resources and meetings and translating that knowledge into more effective strategies to protect children.
